As this episode of The Flash shows us, sometimes it’s okay to spin your wheels and tell a more or less self-contained story while you wait until the showdown with your big bad. Also, there are no less than three insane science magics in this episode, so that’s something look forward to. To which you can look forward? Whatever.
The Flash returns and gives Barry a full plate on his first week back. He’s got to catch a thief, stop a murder in the future, and make sure a museum opening goes off without a hitch. I may have accidentally watched an episode of The Brady Bunch.
Now that the alien invasion is over, I’m sure the repercussions of the MASSIVE 4-PART CROSSOVER will be echoing throughout the rest of the season. And by echoing throughout the season, I mean that characters are going to say things like, “Boy, those aliens sure were weird,” and then going back to the main plotline. Anyway, let’s see if we can figure out what Savitar wants with Barry Allen.
Welcome to Day 2 of the CW crossover event that’s all about corporate synergy … err, aliens. If you missed Supergirl, you can check out Jane’s recap, or you can sit back and let the cast of The Flash clue you in with all of the exposition you can stand. They’re very good at that.
Last week on The Flash, Barry teamed up with the CCPD to catch Alchemy and wrap the third season up early. Sorry, I’m getting word here that Alchemy actually turned into another speedster who wanted to kill Barry for some reason or another. Probably because he wanted to everyone to know how fast he was or something.
As of last week, Barry was stuck with Harry-19, a man who is one furry top hat away from being the twin brother of VH1’s Mystery, and Caitlin was beginning to economically use her powers — except for that moment at the end of last week’s episode when she froze her shower. Or did she make the water boiling hot? It’s so hard to remember when you only have two powers.
Now that Dr. Wells and Jesse are back in Central City to sleep in bunk beds and feast on Big Belly Burger, the gang’s all here. But will we return to the halcyon days of Season 2 with “The New Rogues”? Or should I have just stayed in bed?
